Our lawyers practising in the competition area are skilled in advising and representing both private clients and government-owned corporations in relation to competition and “Trade Practices” matters.
The firm has provided this support to clients claiming or resisting the benefit of consumer protection provisions in competition and fair trading legislation. We have also pursued claims against and defended corporations for misleading and deceptive conduct, unfair pricing practices and breaches of the franchising code of conduct.
The firm also regularly advises its local authority, institutional and corporate clients in respect of their rights and obligations under these laws. This includes representing clients on applications to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the State and Federal courts.
